American Commerce Solutions, Inc. Acquires Affordable Fiberglass Group
BARTOW, Fla., June 25 -- American Commerce Solutions, Inc. (BULLETIN BOARD: AACS) today announced the acquisition of the assets of Affordable Fiberglass Group.
American Commerce Solutions, Inc. President and Chief Executive Officer, Daniel L. Hefner, reported that Affordable Fiberglass Group has been acquired for a combination of stock, debt forgiveness and cash.
"The acquisition of AFG shows our commitment to our fiberglass segment. This acquisition provides ACS with the tooling and equipment that will accomplish two primary objectives. The first is to allow us to capture more of the margin on sales of Chariot Trailers since AFG has been the sole manufacturer of fiberglass parts for Chariot. The second is to open additional wholesale and retail fiberglass sales opportunities with the potential of millions of dollars in new revenue. However, we will not project revenue and profits until we have had the opportunity to evaluate the true impact that AFG will have on Chariot and prioritize the production options that the AFG assets afford us," Hefner commented.
AFG has been a provider of fiberglass parts to multiple industries, including trailers, boats, vintage cars and van tops, since 1998. Founder and owner, Kenneth W. McCleave, will remain involved with AFG under a two-year agreement specializing in product development, quality control and personnel development.
"Kenny's expertise in all facets of the fiberglass trades makes him a valuable part of the ACS team. We have used Kenny's experience to enhance the Chariot product line because he has built literally hundreds of the units from his Tampa facilities and is aware of all the little nuances of fiberglass production," remarked Steven Smith, President of Chariot Manufacturing Company, Inc.
Affordable Fiberglass Group has produced Nimble Sailing Yachts, Chariot Trailers, Dave Koorey Street Rods and Eagle Boats as well as products for many lesser-known companies.
"The benefits of this acquisition will be felt immediately in the production of Chariot Trailers," Hefner stated, "but time will prove the true value, as other company-owned product lines such as Eagle Boats and vintage cars are developed and marketed. AFG will be marketing in both the wholesale and retail markets."
