Visteon to Sponsor Bill Elliott and No. 91 Visteon Dodge at Brickyard 400
LIVONIA, Mich. June 22, 2004 --- Visteon Corporation's Aftermarket
Operations will sponsor Bill Elliott and the No. 91 Visteon Dodge for
Evernham Motorsports at the Brickyard 400 on Sunday, August 8, 2004.
"Our involvement in the upcoming Brickyard 400 is evidence of our long-term
relationship with Evernham Motorsports. We are pleased to be the primary
sponsor on the No. 91 Visteon Dodge at the Brickyard and to show for the
first time our new NASCAR® Performance Windshields," said Greg Gyllstrom,
Visteon Corporation's vice president and general manager of North America
and Asia Aftermarket Operations. "Evernham Motorsports is recognized as a
leader in NASCAR and they share our team's commitment to excellence and
performance."
The entry of the No. 91 Visteon Dodge marks the first NASCAR Nextel Cup
primary car sponsorship for Visteon Aftermarket Operations. Visteon's
Aftermarket operations are a leading supplier of glass, electronics and
underhood parts. Visteon is no stranger to the motorsports world, as the
majority of the cars running in the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series use Visteon
radiator cores. Visteon also offers officially licensed NASCAR® Performance
Windshields available for cars and trucks. The company's exclusive
windshields feature a checkered flag motif with the renowned NASCAR brand
logo in the center.
Elliott, who is running a limited campaign in 2004, won the 2002 Brickyard
400, becoming the first driver to win the event from the front row. Winner
of 44 NASCAR events, he also captured the historic first win for Evernham
Motorsports on November 11, 2001, at Homestead-Miami Speedway. This year,
Elliott also ran at Texas and in the Bud Shootout at Daytona. In addition to
running a limited on-track schedule, Elliot remains active with Evernham
Motorsports as mentor and coach to the team's drivers, testing and
developing on-track equipment, and lending his talent in a variety of
endeavors on and off the track. "Continued success in motorsports -
particularly in NASCAR - always includes strong support from committed
sponsors," said Ray Evernham, CEO of Evernham Motorsports. "Visteon brings
that commitment to our sport and we are pleased to be the team to manage
their first primary car sponsorship in NASCAR."
