Demolition Derby Headlines SSP on Thursday
NEWBERRYTOWN, PA (June 22, 2004) – This Thursday night, June 24 SSP will
host the long awaited $1000 to win Demolition Derby Extravaganza along with
its exciting weekly divisions of 410 Sprint Cars and Xtreme Enduro Stock Cars.
With entries already coming in from all over Central Pennsylvania for the
Demo Derby, this is one event that fans will not want to miss.
After the qualifying events, Turkey Bowling will headline the “Racing Fans
Direct” fan participation contest for prizes. Turkey Bowling will be
presented by the Red Crown Bowling Center in Harrisburg, PA. Children are also
invited to join the 410 Sprint Car Feature winner in victory lane for pictures
after the race.
SSP will continue its Repeat Fan Discount in which there will be a $2.00
discount for each person with a ticket stub from the June 20 event only. For
example, $2.00 off an Adult ticket for June 20 with and Adult ticket stub from
the June 20 event. This program will not be in effect for the July 1 PA
Speedweek Special, since advance tickets for this event are now available.
Gates open in the pit area at 4:00 p.m. with the grandstand gates opening
at 5:00 p.m. Warmups begin at 6:30 p.m. with racing action beginning at
7:30 p.m. Race fans can expect a fast paced 2 ½ hour program each and every
night (and as coined by a local reporter "Done by 10."). Grandstand ticket
prices are Adults (18 & older) $12.00; Teens (13-17) $8.00; Children (6-12)
$4.00; and Children (5 & under) are free. Pit pass prices have been reduced to
$20.00 with a reduced price of $18.00 for all track license holders. A
track license is $25.00 for the year. There will be no Sunday raindate for this
event due to the PA Speedweeks event already scheduled at the Grandview
Speedway in Bechtelsville, PA.
The Susquehanna Speedway Park is located off I-83 to exit 32, then 1.4 miles
NW on SR382 to York Road, then 1.3 miles south. For more information,

Time is a factor! All cars must report to the grid area on time for their
races. Late arrivals may not be permitted on the track. Please be early!

SSP News and Notes:
- SSP will be selling advance tickets for the Thursday, July 1 PA
Speedweeks event at the track on race nights. Advance prices will be Adults
($18); Teens ($8); Children 6-12 ($3). Day of event prices will be Adults
($20); Teens ($10); and Children 6-12 ($5). Fans are encouraged to buy their
tickets in advance to avoid lines and save money.
- At the end of the race night on July 1 (PA Speedweeks), there
will be a $1,000-to-win 410 Sprint Car Wheelie Contest presented by the Beer
Hill Gang. Drivers will get 3 laps to put on “their best show.” The winner
will be chosen by the fans!
- A revised handicapping and lineup system for the 410 Sprint Cars
will be released at the driver’s meeting on Thursday, June 24. It will take
effect on Thursday, July 8.
