  BACKGROUND:

In the last eight months, eight American adventurers have been driving across South America, Australia and now Southeast Asia, in an effort to raise funds for The Parkinson's Institute, a world-class treatment center in Sunnyvale, California. The LONGITUDE Expedition will cross four continents, drive through 34 countries, and follow lines of longitude over a distance of 32,000 miles.

The team is taking turns behind the wheel of four Land Rover Certified Pre-Owned Discovery Series II vehicles. A fifth Certified Pre-owned Land Rover Discovery is being used in the U.S. by the Drive Around the World Education Program as a global awareness building campaign. The team is also promoting geography awareness and scientific research projects among school children via their interactive web site, http://www.drivearoundtheworld.com/.
