Northwood University and Reynolds University Team to Offer Automotive Certificate Programs
DAYTON, Ohio, June 16, 2004; The Reynolds and Reynolds Company announced today that it has teamed with Northwood University to provide online, automotive certificate programs based on the job roles within the parts, service, sales and accounting areas of the retail automotive dealership.
Delivered through Northwood University, a private university that prepares students for leadership careers in business and management, the 12-week automotive certificate program provides role-based training. For new and experienced dealership employees, the program outlines job role responsibilities, accountability requirements, and provides process training for performing key functions.
"With today's high turnover rates training is imperative to retaining dealership employees," said Susan Moll, senior director of Reynolds University. "With job role training, employees can have the skill sets, knowledge and confidence necessary to operate in today's hyper-competitive automotive industry. With Northwood University's distance learning capabilities, employees can access accredited, flexible training and enhance their skills at their own pace, time, and place."
"We are delighted to work with Reynolds and Reynolds," said Dr. David E. Fry, president and CEO of Northwood University. "It's a win-win situation for dealerships and their employees. Along with vital job training, employees can earn academic credits, improving their satisfaction and success in the industry."
Modules are delivered via the Internet over a 12-week session that requires learners to devote approximately 1-3 hours per week to successfully complete each program. Upon successful completion of each module enrolled participants will receive a certificate of completion and two CEU credits. Credits may be translated to Northwood academic credit for earning a degree in Automotive Marketing and Management.
