SCELZI NO. 7 ON FRIDAY NIGHT IN E-TOWN

ENGLISHTOWN, N.J. (June 18, 2004) - After two qualifying rounds for the K&N
Filters Supernationals, Gary Scelzi and his HEMI-powered Oakley Dodge
Stratus is No. 7, with his second pass of the day of 4.944 seconds at 311.85
mph.

In today's first session, Scelzi was third in the Funny Car field with a
5.046/296.63 under hot and humid conditions. The air remained hot for the
second session, but the track temperature cooled.

"The track was 99 degrees tonight," said Scelzi. "I don't know what
happened. It didn't run like we thought. We were going up there to try to
run an .85 and for whatever reason it didn't do it. We'll check out the data
and be prepared for tomorrow's two sessions."
