TI Automotive Selects Hart County, Georgia, for New Plant
HART COUNTY, Ga.--June 17, 2004--TI Automotive has selected Hart County, Georgia, as the site for a new facility to manufacture automotive fuel system components.TI Automotive is the world's leading supplier of fluid storage, transfer and delivery systems, including brake, fuel and air conditioning applications.
The TI Automotive plant will be located in the Gateway High Tech Industrial Park, overlooking the rolling hills of northeast Georgia on Interstate-85 at Exit 177.
"TI Automotive is the ideal first tenant for Gateway," said Jack Edmunds, chairman of the Joint Development Authority of Franklin, Hart and Stephens counties. "This multimillion-dollar project will be an excellent showcase directly across I-85 from the Georgia Welcome Center. It reflects a great partnership between this international company, the state of Georgia and our local communities."
Edmunds saluted the Georgia Department of Industry, Trade and Tourism and the Georgia Power Company for bringing TI Automotive to Gateway, and OneGeorgia for helping to make Gateway a competitive venue.
Project details will be announced at a press conference with TI Automotive and state and local officials early next month, according to Edmunds.
"This site provides us with an excellent location to grow and provide products to our expanding list of automotive customers in the southeast U.S.," said Howard Duxbury, TI Automotive president, Global Fuel Systems.
Hart and Franklin counties, through the tri-county Joint Development Authority, are developing the Gateway High Tech Industrial Park with a more than $2.5 million investment.
"We are extremely pleased we could attract a company of TI Automotive's caliber this early in the development of the Gateway Park," noted Dan Reyen, chairman of the Hart County Board of Commissioners. "It certainly justifies the time and effort put into the project."
