ARCA Trucks Invade Terre Haute

ARCA LINCOLN WELDERS TRUCK SERIES INVADES TERRE HAUTE FRIDAY, JUNE 18
 

(6-17-04)  The ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series, in its sixth season of competition, will steer for the Terre Haute Action Track on Friday night, June 18 for the Wabash Valley Harley Davidson 100.

 

It will be the first appearance for the ARCA touring truckers at Terre Haute; however, the series is certainly no stranger to dirt-track racing. 

 

In fact, since the series' inception in 1999, exactly one-sixth, or 17% of the combined total (dirt & pavement) of Truck series events overall have been held on dirt at a variety track shapes and sizes - the most recent in 2003 at the renowned, legendary DuQuoin State Fairgrounds Magic Mile.

 

The Terre Haute Action Track is one of three dirt venues this year for the traveling truckers; the others at Lawrenceburg Speedway on July 3 as well as a return trip to DuQuoin to open up the 2004 DuQuoin State Fair on August 28.

 

In two races so far this year, there have been two different winners. Barboursville, West Virginia rookie Brett Rowe won in his first series start at Tri-City Motor Speedway (MI) in May before two-time and defending series champion Chad Guinn picked up the winner's trophy at Midvale Speedway (OH) last weekend.

 

The championship point battle headed to Terre Haute is extremely close with Guinn leading by just 10 markers over Willis, Michigan rookie Rick Knowles. It's just as tight from there with Brian Rowe in third and brother Brett Rowe tied for fourth with Kevin Reeb.



NOTE: Troy Marciniak is scheduled to practice Tully Esterline's #10 Rupp Seeds Chevy S-10 while Esterline, who serves as a shock engineer for NASCAR Busch Series driver David Green, makes his way from the Busch event at Kentucky Speedway.
