Klein Tools/Jim Beam Driver Dan Wheldon 18th in Final Practice

Ft. Worth , Texas (June 11, 2004) - Klein Tools/Jim Beam driver Dan Wheldon
made his final preparations today before tomorrow night's Indy Racing LeagueŽ IndyCarŽ
Series Bombardier 500k at Texas Motor Speedway, posting the 18th fastest time during the
final practice session.
Wheldon recorded a best lap of 207.342 miles per hour during the final practice
session while running in a large pack of cars that will mirror the race conditions he will
experience tomorrow.  The Klein Tools/Jim Beam team will look through the data tonight to
find the additional speed they feel they need to continue their league leading streak of
seven top-five finishes in a row.
Sam Hornish led today's final practice with a speed of 211.331 miles per hour.
Wheldon's Andretti Green Racing teammates, XM Satellite Radio driver Bryan Herta and
Team 7-Eleven driver Tony Kanaan, were second and third, respectively.
The Bombardier 500k, Round 5 of the IndyCar Series schedule, will start Saturday at
8 p.m. (EDT).  The 200-lap event will air live on ESPN.

Dan Wheldon, Driver, #26 Klein Tools/Jim Beam Dallara/Honda/Firestone
"The Klein Tools/Jim Beam car was very comfortable, but that isn't always a good
thing.  We are significantly off the pace and we are looking into why.  I think Eddie (Jones,
race engineer) and the rest of the AGR engineering staff will have some good ideas to get
us the speed we need for tomorrow."

Tony Cotman, Team Manager, #26 Klein Tools/Jim Beam Dallara/Honda/Firestone
"Right now we are disappointed and pretty slow.  We have a little bit of time before
the race and we are going to have to figure something out tonight.  We need to come up
with a few changes to find some speed for the Klein Tools/Jim Beam car.  Right now we are
just a little behind the game."
