TEAM 7-ELEVEN'S KANAAN QUALIFIES THIRD AT TEXAS

       FT. WORTH, Texas (June 10, 2004) - Team 7-Eleven driver Tony Kanaan
turned a qualifying lap of 208.511 miles per hour tonight at Texas Motor Speedway,
which earned him the third starting position for Saturday night's running of the
Bombardier 500.
       Kanaan, who wheeled the #11 Team 7-Eleven Dallara/Honda/Firestone to a
second-place finish in this event one year ago, is looking for his second win of the 2004
Indy Racing LeagueŽ (IRL) IndyCarŽ Series season after netting his fourth-consecutive
top-five qualifying result this year.
       Kanaan's run was part of a top-five sweep by Honda-powered entries, led by his
Andretti Green Racing (AGR) teammate, Dario Franchitti, who won the pole in the #27
ArcaEx Dallara with a speed of 209.609 miles per hour. Indianapolis 500 winner Buddy
Rice qualified second (208.755), Kosuke Matsuura was fourth (208.360) and AGR
teammate Bryan Herta was fifth (208.001) in the XM Satellite Radio
Dallara/Honda/Firestone.
       Practice for Saturday's 200-lap race on the 1.5-mile high-banked circuit
continues tomorrow with two sessions. Round 5 of the IndyCar Series is set to begin at
8 p.m. (EDT) Saturday and airs live on ESPN.

Tony Kanaan, #11 Team 7-Eleven Dallara/Honda/Firestone:
       "I love this place.  The qualifying is exciting for the public, but I don't think it
means much in the race.  Before tonight my best start here was ninth, and I finished
second last year in the Team 7-Eleven car.  The race is going to be really exciting and I
can't wait for Saturday night. The IRL changed both the aero and engine package to
slow the cars down and they definitely accomplished that.  The cars are slower, but they
are also safer."

       "I think we've had a good weekend so far.  We didn't quite get qualifying right and
I think if we would have we'd be on the front row with Dario.  It was a really good effort
by everyone on Team 7-Eleven.  With Tony qualifying early in the line his feedback
went back to the other drivers and I think that certainly helped where Dario ended up.
