XM Satellite Radio Driver Bryan Herta Qualifies Fifth at Texas

Ft. Worth , Texas (June 10, 2004) -.XM Satellite Radio driver Bryan
Herta earned the fifth starting position for Saturday night's Indy Racing League®
IndyCar® Series Bombardier 500k with a lap of 208.001 miles per hour around
Texas Motor Speedway.
After running well during the afternoon's two 30-minute practice sessions,
Herta took to the track under the lights for his qualifying attempt.  Though track
conditions had changed, he continued to display the speed needed to start near
the front at the 1.5-mile oval with his starting spot on the inside of the third row.
Five seems to be Herta's number at the high banked track in Ft. Worth.
Herta made his IndyCar Series debut at Texas last year, starting ninth and
finishing fifth.  He then returned for the season finale, starting eighth and again
finishing fifth.
Herta's Andretti Green Racing teammate, ArcaEx driver Dario Franchitti,
earned his first IndyCar Series pole position with a lap at 209.609 miles per hour.
Team 7-Eleven driver Tony Kanaan qualified third with a lap at 208.511 miles per
hour.  At every race this year, Andretti Green Racing has placed at least two cars
in the top-five during qualifying.
The Bombardier 500k, Round 5 of the IndyCar Series schedule, will start
Saturday at 8 p.m. (EDT).  The 200-lap event will air live on ESPN.

Bryan Herta, Driver, #7 XM Satellite Radio Dallara/Honda/Firestone
"The Honda's are still fast.  We had a pretty good run in the XM Satellite
Radio car but it just wasn't enough.  Qualifying doesn't mean a whole lot here.
The key is to have a good race car at Texas.  It is almost two completely different
race tracks in qualifying and during the race. The type of racing we do here at
Texas is tough.  You're side-by-side and very close throughout and it is very
difficult and very taxing on you as the driver."

George Klotz, Team Manager, #7 XM Satellite Radio Dallara/Honda/Firestone
"We were pretty quick in the practices today and Bryan did a great job in
qualifying.  This XM Satellite Radio crew is really working hard and it is starting to
pay off.  It's good to be starting near the front and we've got our teammates up
there as well.  We should be able to run together and have a really good race."
