Midas Teams up with NASCAR Performance Network; Retail Locations Listed on NASCAR.com

ITASCA, Ill.--June 10, 2004--The National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR) and Midas, Inc. have announced that nearly 1,900 Midas auto service locations in the United States and Canada have joined the NASCAR Performance Network - an online marketing and locator service allowing NASCAR fans to quickly find automotive service professionals in their local communities.

The NASCAR Performance Network is accessed through the "Automotive" tab on the front page of NASCAR.com, which consistently ranks among the top five sport sites on the internet and averages more than 4.5 million unique users each month.

"Midas is excited to partner with NASCAR to reach new customers and direct them to their neighborhood Midas service centers," said Rick Dow, Midas senior vice president and chief marketing officer. "Midas and NASCAR are two great brands, both committed to high performance. We look forward to being a part of NASCAR's tremendous fan appeal and building loyalty across our respective customer bases."

Besides finding race recaps and analysis, audio and video footage, team news, series standings and more, The NASCAR Performance Networks allows NASCAR fans to locate automotive repair , body shops and parts stores to service their vehicles. From the "Automotive" section of NASCAR.com, consumers simply enter their ZIP code to find participating service centers in their local communities. The listings include the Midas shop locations, map directions and types of services performed.

"The relevant connection between NASCAR, NASCAR.com and the automotive industry allows the NASCAR Performance Network to help deliver the message of improving regular vehicle maintenance and being 'Car Care Aware'," said Mark Dyer, NASCAR vice president of licensing and consumer products. "Midas and its nearly 1,900 service locations are an excellent addition that NASCAR fans can choose from for their automotive service needs."

NASCAR is driving consumers to the online shop locator through campaigns of television, print, radio and Internet advertising. TV advertising airs nationally on NASCAR race broadcasts as well as during weekly NASCAR programming on SPEED Channel. The print advertising campaign runs in NASCAR Scene and other NASCAR related publications. Radio branding is heard on Motor Racing Network (MRN) race broadcasts and the new NASCAR Performance Live radio program on XM Satellite Radio and NASCAR.com rotates banner ads on a daily basis.

Participating Midas shops are identified as NASCAR Performance Network locations and shop employees are eligible to take part in NASCAR online technical training programs.
