FuelQuest, Inc. Launches RVP/OXY Air Quality Compliance Module With Circle K

Efficient Management of Seasonal RVP/OXY Gasoline Specifications Now a Reality

HOUSTON, June 9 -- FuelQuest, Inc. announced the latest addition to the FuelQuest Fuel Management System (FMS) with the development and launch of a new Air Quality Compliance module (AQC). The AQC module provides site operators with a transition management, tracking, and reporting platform for sites that operate in geographies defined by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as requiring compliance with air quality regulations such as those defined by 40 CFR sections 80.27 - 28. Additionally, the AQC module allows site operators to manage the same compliance activities for sites that operate in regions governed by State Implementation Programs (SIP) that may have stricter requirements than those mandated by the EPA.

The AQC solution is provided as an extension to FuelQuest FMS, the company's latest generation of fuel supply management, fleet optimization, and logistics scheduling applications. These applications are entirely web based and provide a collaborative online workbench for real time interaction with fuel suppliers, sites, outsourced dispatch providers, and third party transportation providers.

Douglas Haugh, EVP of Marketing and Product Management for FuelQuest, explained that "to deal with the many challenges presented to site operators and fuel suppliers by the proliferation of boutique fuels and fragmented compliance requirements, we saw a need to provide our clients with a platform that facilitates efficient tank turns at the retail level while allowing them to track compliance. In the past, it was possible to manage these activities with manual tools such as spreadsheets, but now the complexity of the requirements is simply too large for operators to ensure compliance by relying on manual methods."

"It's imperative that we have the ability to optimize inventories, fuel procurement, and our logistics while ensuring compliance with all federal and local air quality regulations," stated Dave Amble, Dispatch Manager for Circle K stores. He added, "By having the AQC module tightly integrated with our overall fuel management system, we can achieve compliance without disrupting our daily operations. We already use the FuelQuest FMS to manage our fuel inventory, supply contracts and dispatch operations at over 1400 locations, so this is an exciting addition to the platform."
