Delphi Connection Systems Reinforces Industry-Leading Role with Another Addition to Growing USCAR-Compliant Portfolio

Full Range of USCAR-Compliant 064 Unsealed Header Connectors Now Available

WARREN, Ohio, June 9 -- Delphi Corporation has further reinforced its leadership role in providing vehicle manufacturers with USCAR-compliant components, marking today the release of another wide-ranging family of automotive connection systems to add to its already robust portfolio.

With the launch of its comprehensive catalog of USCAR-directed 064 series unsealed header connectors, the Delphi Connection Systems (DCS) business segment, part of Delphi's Packard Electric division, remains at the forefront of the industry in the availability of off-the-shelf products fully meeting USCAR standards.

USCAR (United States Consortium for Automotive Research) teams U.S. vehicle manufacturers DaimlerChrysler, Ford Motor Company and General Motors Corp., working together to drive standardization and commonization of specifications, testing and product design standards, and to create a series of product standards for automotive electrical and electronic connections.

For DCS, involvement in USCAR comes within Electrical Wiring Component Applications Partnership (EWCAP), which addresses the development of common electrical connection systems. By helping to lead the development of USCAR electrical connection specifications and requirements, DCS has positioned itself as the premier supplier to help meet manufacturers' connection system needs.

Available in standard one- and two-row header designs, DCS's 064 series can be configured in right angle or straight pin versions. These hand-matable connectors can be utilized in automotive and transportation markets, covering device, in-line and board-to-wire applications. Specifically, these include infotainment systems, door panels, seat controls, window switches and climate control systems.

The announcement of the availability of the USCAR 064 series comes as DCS this week marks the grand opening of its state-of-the-art, all-electric press plastic injection molding operation in Vienna, Ohio.
