School Bus Racing at SSP on Thursday


NEWBERRYTOWN, PA (June 8,  2004) – This  Thursday night, June 10, School Bus 
Racing comes to Central  Pennsylvania for the first time  ever at the 
Susquehanna Speedway Park.  SSP will also host the 410 Sprint Cars  and the Xtreme 
Enduro Stock Cars.  With more than 15 entries for The Great American School Bus 
Race and more  expected, this will be one of the most exciting racing events of 
the year.  As a special treat for the fans, there will be  complimentary 
school bus rides around the track from 5:45 p.m. to 6:15 p.m.  Fans  are 
encouraged to arrive early and have some fun at SSP.    
Also new to the  speedway this week will be the 410 Sprint Car of Cory Haas.  
Haas, a standout in 358 Sprint Cars will  debut his new car and make SSP a 
weekly stop.  Bobby Howard has indicated that he has a  new 410 Sprint Car that 
he will be debuting soon as well.  
After the qualifying  events, a limited number of couples will be invited to 
the frontstretch for a  Water Balloon Toss contest.  Couples  will be lines up 
facing each other and toss a water balloon between back and  forth.  After 
each toss, one partner  will take a step backward until the balloon is dropped 
or pops.  The last couple remaining will receive 2  Adult Speedweek tickets to 
the July 1st event at SSP.   
Gates open in  the pit area at 4:00  p.m. with the grandstand  gates opening 
at 5:00  p.m.  Warmups begin  at 6:30  p.m. with racing action  beginning at 
7:30  p.m.  Race fans can  expect a fast paced 2 ½ hour program each and every 
night (and as coined by a  local reporter "Done by 10.").  Grandstand ticket 
prices are Adults (18  & older) $12.00; Teens (13-17) $8.00; Children (6-12) 
$4.00; and Children (5  & under) are free.  Pit pass prices have been reduced to 
$20.00 with a  reduced price of $18.00 for all track license holders.  A 
track license is  $25.00 for the year.   The raindate will be Sunday, June 12 for 
the  event. 
The Susquehanna Speedway Park is located off I-83 to exit 32,  then 1.4 miles 
NW on SR382 to York  Road, then 1.3 miles south.  For  more information,

Non members - $20.00 
5:00  p.m.  Grandstands Open: General  admission: Adults - $10.00; Teens 
(13-17) – $6.00;  
Children  (6-12) - $2.00; Children (5 & under) – Free 
6:30  p.m.  410 Sprint Car Driver’s  Meeting (Mandatory) - A  random role 
call will be taken.   
Failure  to report to the driver’s meeting may result in disqualification for 
that  night. 
410 Sprint Cars (Heat in Engines)   
6:40  p.m.  Xtreme Enduro Stock Cars &  School Bus Driver’s Meeting (INFIELD) 
(Mandatory) - A  random role call will be taken.  Failure to report to the 
driver’s meeting  
may  result in disqualification for that night. 
6:50  p.m. - 7:15 p.m.  Practice Begins (all  divisions in the following 
order) - THIS  IS NOT A RACE!

410  Sprint Car Heat Races -  (10 laps)

410  Sprint Car Consolation Race -  (10 or 12 laps) – if necessary 
Xtreme  Stock Car Pepsi Challenge – (4  laps) Top  5 from previous week 
Adult  Water Balloon Toss – (Couples)   
Pre-stage  all 410 Sprint Cars on the frontstretch for  introductions 
8:30  p.m.                     Feature Events - Victory  Lane  @ Finish Line 
for Top 3 in each division. 
410  Sprint Car A-Main -  (25 laps)

Time is a  factor!  All cars must report to the  grid area on time for their 
races.  Late arrivals may not be permitted on the track.  Please be early!
