Monster Mile Bites Stremme Once Again

Dover, DE (June 7, 2004) – Team TRIMSPA looked as it was headed for a sure
top-10 finish in Monday’s rain-delayed MBNA 400 until a mid-race accident on lap
43 continued driver David Stremme’s bad luck streak at Dover International
Speedway. After qualifying 16th, Stremme ran in the top 10 to start the day.
Unfortunately, Stremme’s Dodge was collected in a three-car spin when exiting
Turn 4, resulting from close racing between cup regulars Kevin Harvick and Johnny
Sauter.

“I couldn’t tell if the 21 got into the 27 or if the 27 just got loose on
his own,” said Stremme, driver of the TRIMSPA X32 Dodge. “I just feel like a
victim because there was nowhere to go. The TRIMSPA Dodge was strong and we had
a great run going. Sometimes it is just not your day.”

After spending the majority of the race behind the wall for extensive
front-end suspension repairs, the TRIMSPA X32 Dodge returned to the track to complete
21 more laps and gain three positions up to 34th.

“I thanked the guys for their hard work and told them sorry about the finish,”
said crew chief Randy Cox. “It was important as far as points for us to go
out there and get the three positions we could.”

On a brighter note for the weekend, TRIMSPA driver and Braun Racing teammate
Ryan Hemphill continued his domination of the ARCA series. Hemphill drove his
TRIMSPA Dodge to a pole and his third straight victory at Kansas Speedway on
Saturday evening.

Team TRIMSPA will be back on track this Saturday for the Federated Auto Parts
300 Busch Series race at Nashville Superspeedway. The event will be televised
live Saturday, June 12th at 7:30 p.m. eastern time on FX and will broadcast
nationally at that same time on radio stations affiliated with Motor Racing
Network (MRN) and XM Satellite Radio Channel 144.
