Allmendinger Collects Top-5 in Milwaukee

American rookie AJ Allmendinger made an impressive Champ Car oval debut under the lights collecting a fifth place finish
for his first-year RuSPORT team in just the third race of the season at the Milwaukee Mile.  Allmendinger started 13th, but
steadily made his way through the field.  By Lap 100, he was in 6th place and passed Bruno Junqueira for fifth on Lap 140.

"I'm more than thrilled with the top-five finish.  David Brown, my engineer, and I sat down and we talked
honestly to each other today.  I told him I was nervous, I didn't know what I wanted out of the race car.  And he
said Michel's hit on something, let's go after it.  He was great.  I went down a lap going through traffic on the
first stint.  I really didn't know how hard to push the car, but as the race went on I found that my car was really
good after about 10 laps on the tires.  Everybody was coming back to me.  I could catch them and get around
them.  From then on, it was just pacing myself and not making any mistakes.  It was a long race.  I remember
thinking the race had to be almost over and looking down at my dash to see we still had a hundred laps left.  I
couldn't be more proud of the team.  Now we just need to go to Portland and build on this success."
