Nissan's Global Products Highlighted on San Francisco Billboards; Automaker's Global Nissan 360 Event Makes a Splash on America's Favorite City
SAN FRANCISCO--June 4, 2004--What is red, white and blue and speaks in four languages? They're Nissan billboards in and around San Francisco to celebrate the automaker's first global ride and drive event, Nissan 360, a three-week program which kicks off today. The billboards carry images of Nissan vehicles from North America (the Murano), Japan (the Teana sedan) and Europe (the X-Trail sport-utility vehicle and the Micra subcompact car). Each billboard features a greeting in the vehicle's native languages -- English, Japanese, French and German, respectively. Nissan's advertising agency of record, TBWA/Chiat/Day Los Angeles, created the billboards.
An Internet URL found on the billboards, www.nissanusa.com/worldcollection, directs consumers to the Nissan 360 web site where they can learn more about the dynamic event and Nissan's global product offerings.
"Nissan is a global brand offering a wide array of products," said Steve Wilhite, vice president of marketing, Nissan North America. "San Francisco is a melting pot of cultural treasures, a place of magical moments. Together, we shift the unexpected. We bring the world to America's favorite city."
This announcement comes during the Nissan 360 news media event, a three-week program in San Francisco featuring the automaker's current and future worldwide product and business plans. At the event, close to 500 reporters will have the opportunity to drive nearly 70 Nissan and Infiniti vehicles to familiarize themselves with the breadth of Nissan's global product lineup.
In North America, Nissan's operations include automotive styling, engineering, consumer and corporate financing, sales and marketing, distribution and manufacturing.
