Three Metro-Detroit Manufacturers Announce Merger

WIXOM, Mich., June 4 -- Three Detroit-area tool manufacturing companies announce their merger and new company name, Silver Hawk Precision, which is headquartered in Wixom, Michigan. The three companies which comprise the new entity are: Carb-R-All and PCD of America, both of Wixom, Michigan, and Dia-Tool Corporation of Farmington Hills, Michigan. The merger happened late 2003. The company is now announcing its new name. The new entity, with private equity backing, has combined manufacturing capacity to more than double its present volume.

Silver Hawk Precision is a specialty tooling manufacturer which services automotive and other manufacturing customers.

Silver Hawk announces the appointment of Mr. Leo Charpentier as president, formerly vice president of operations of EWAG Corporation of North Kingstown, Rhode Island. The company also announces the appointment of Mr. Daniel Diskin as vice president, sales and marketing. Mr. Diskin was the former owner of Dia-Tool.

Mr. Paul Abbott, formerly director of manufacturing for Advanced Cutting Tools of Windsor, Ontario, is director of manufacturing. Mr. Shelby Gibson, with more than 35 years' industry experience, heads the new sales team at Silver Hawk.

"The combined new company has more capabilities than the sum of all its parts, in terms of metalworking experience, manufacturing capacity, customer service and the ability to create cost-saving solutions," comments Mr. Charpentier. "We are large enough to service the product needs of our customers, but small enough to be highly responsive and easy to do business with," continued Charpentier. The company specializes in specialty, custom- order tooling such as milling cutters, PCD- and PCBN-tipped round tools, PCD and PCBN inserts, solid carbide round tooling and natural diamond products.
