Thursday, June 3, 2004
The Time Warner Cable Roadrunner 250
Round 3 of 16
A.J. Allmendinger, #10
Qualified 10th 21.332/174.161 mph
A.J. Allmendinger
"I was very pleased overall with this session because we made a lot of progress over the first practice. I have
a very good direction heading into tomorrow. Driving under the lights is definitely a new experience. The sight
picture that you have to learn is a lot different than if there are sunny skies. The promoter and Champ Car
have done a great job lighting the track though so there aren't any dark spots you have to fight to see through."
Jeremy Dale, Team President
"I think all in all A.J. had a pretty good day. The first session was a real challenge; the car was not good.
Everyone went to work though and they made a lot of progress, especially during the second session tonight
under conditions very similar to what we think we'll see during the race. The car, especially under the long
runs, is very good. It's A.J.'s first oval race in a Champ Car, his first night race, and only his second career
oval race, so giving him confidence in the car is very important and tonight he got that."
