MTI Microfuel Cells to Present at Batteries 2004 Conference and Exhibition in France

ALBANY, N.Y., June 2 -- William Acker, CEO and President of MTI MicroFuel Cells, Inc. (MTI Micro), a subsidiary of Mechanical Technology Inc., is scheduled to present at the Batteries 2004 Conference and Exhibition which runs from June 2-4, 2004 at the Sofitel Forum Rive Gauche Hotel in Paris, France.

The three day conference, organized by Euroforum France -- a leader in the telecommunication and new technologies sector -- is one of the largest and most diverse European shows on batteries and portable power, bringing together material suppliers, battery and electronic device manufacturers and users, environmental and recycling organizations, and wireless network providers.

Dr. Acker's presentation scheduled for Friday, June 4, 2004 at 2:30 p.m. (Paris time), will cover opportunities for the integration of direct methanol fuel cells (DMFCs) into portable electronics, and will outline progress at MTI Micro.
