Link Plus Corporation Awarded OEM Contract for Wireless Automotive Security Devices
COLUMBIA, Md.--June 1, 2004--Link Plus Corporation (OTCBB:LKPL) announced today receipt of an original equipment manufacture contract for design, development and eventual production of a new technology wireless automotive security device.According to Dr. Jonathan P. Gluckman, Link Plus executive vice president and COO, the first phase of this contract for a major supplier of automotive aftermarket products calls for development of a prototype product consisting of a small handheld transceiver device the size of a key fob and a transceiver and antenna for easy installation on a car or truck's windshield. He estimated release of production quantities of the system to manufacturing by the fourth quarter of 2004.
"This new, long range and compact product uses elements from the proven ASM3 LinkPlus(R) long-range digital radio technology that operates in the 902-928 MHz band. When combined with the windshield components, we are producing a complete, two-way data-link system using a high performance segment of the wireless spectrum," he said. "The end result is a compact, rugged device with industry leading line-of-sight range."
Gluckman noted that this is a complete automotive security solution. The system has a sophisticated series of proprietary software modules that control the automotive environment. Commands are user-selected from among pre-programmed icons and menu options displayed on the key-fob controller's LCD screen.
