Senior classes complete two rounds at Hamilton
Di Leo, Givogue, Meeks, Palacio, Bilotta, de Heus win in Hamilton
HAMILTON, ONTARIO - The Sunoco Ron Fellows Karting Championship Presented
by Toronto Star Wheels Senior classes completed two action packed rounds at
Cameron Motorsports Park in Hamilton on May 30. Formula Senior wins went to
Cale Meeks and Tyler Givogue, while Marco Di Leo won both RotaxMax Senior
races - and took the Canada Senior Light win on Saturday. Aaron de Heus won
both rounds in Canada Senior Heavy, while World Formula Senior wins went to
Esteban Palacio and Adriano Bilotta.
Formula Senior - Cameron Motorsports Fast Qualifier; Cale Meeks (Round 1),
Tom Cadieux (Round 2).
Wasaga Beach's Cale Meeks overtook early leader, Newmarket's Mike Roth, for
the win in Round 1. Roth finished second after a race long battle with
Ottawa's Tyler Givogue. Givogue got a fantastic start in Round 2 and led
flag to flag to take the win ahead of Meeks and London's Matt Pritiko.
RotaxMax Senior - Cameron Motorsports Fast Qualifier; Marco Di Leo (Round
1), Robert Wickens (Round 2).
Markham's Marco Di Leo scored a runaway victory in Round 1, leading from
flag to flag. Behind Di Leo came Paris' Mark Kitchen and Guelph's Robert
Wickens. In Round 2, Wickens took the early lead before being passed by Di
Leo who went on to complete the sweep. Newmarket's Mike Roth finished
second, and Wickens was third. A very notable performance was put in by
Barrie's Brad Leliever, who started 30th and finished 7th in Round 1.
World Formula Senior- Cameron Motorsports Fast Qualifier; Adriano Bilotta
(Rounds 1 and 2).
Maple's Adriano Bilotta took the early lead in Round 1 before mechanical
problems send him down the order. Toronto's Esteban Palacio took the win
over Ajax's Jason Bradimore and Woodstock's Corey Usher. In Round 2,
Bilotta went flag to flag to take the win ahead of North York's Chris
Martin and Gilford's Paul Carvalho.
Canada Senior Heavy - Cameron Motorsports Fast Qualifier; Aaron de Heus
(Rounds 1 and 2).
Uxbridge's Aaron de Heus took both wins in Canada Senior Heavy. In both
rounds, he was hounded all race long by Leamington's Jennifer Rempel. Third
in both rounds was Belle River's David Patrick.
Canada Senior Light - Cameron Motorsports Fast Qualifier; Marco di Leo.
Markham's Marco Di Leo clean swept the Canada Senior Light class, by taking
pole, pre-final and final race wins. Behind Di Leo in the pre-final were
Whitby's Justin Mascoll and Uxbridge's Aaron de Heus. In the final de Heus
moved up to second and Pickering's Rob Oakman was third.
The objective of the SRFKC is to help foster a professional environment for
kart drivers; help create a positive attitude towards appearance, conduct
and discipline; help foster the employment of the best practices for the
safe and fair running of competitions; and help kart drivers to move up the
racing ladder to automobile racing.
