Top 10 for Stremme and Team TRIMSPA at Lowe’s 
 
Concord, NC (May 30, 2004) – Team TRIMSPA driver David Stremme qualified 15th 
for Saturday’s Carquest Auto Parts 300. From the drop of the green, Stremme 
fought a tight handling condition, but steadily climbed through the field up 
into 13th position by the first pit stop under caution on lap 25. While the 
first set of changes helped the handling of the TRIMSPA X32 Dodge, it took a 
spring rubber out of the left front during the second pit stop to bring the car to 
life. 
 
“The TRIMSPA Team had great stops all day,” said Stremme. “We were tight on 
exit of the corners but the TRIMSPA Dodge was still strong. Our car was close 
enough to respond to the changes we made on it, and in the end we had a better 
car then where we ended up.”
 
After the TRIMSPA crew rattled off a 15.5 second pit stop on lap 119 gaining 
Stremme three spots on pit road to ninth position, fuel mileage then became 
the name of the game. Crew chief Randy Cox made the call to play it safe and 
bring Stremme in for a gas and go on lap 131 under green, anticipating that 
several cars ahead of him would run out of fuel. Stremme looked set for a top five 
or possibly top-three finish. However, due to a series of laps under caution, 
and extraordinary fuel mileage by some of the leaders, Stremme finished eighth.
 
“We are performing the way we need to turn this team around,” said Stremme. “
This was a good points’ day for us. At one point it looked like we could 
possibly have our best finish of the year in the bag so it was a little bit of a 
letdown when we only made it back up to eight after the gas-and-go. But we had 
a fast car and put ourselves in position for a top finish, so I am happy with 
that.”
 
Stremme’s top-10 capped off an impressive weekend for sponsor TRIMSPA, which 
included an ARCA win on Thursday evening with Braun Racing driver Ryan 
Hemphill. Stremme currently sits two spots higher, now 15th in Busch Series points 
heading into Saturday’s MBNA America 200 at Dover International Speedway. The 
event will be televised live Saturday, June 5th at 12:30 p.m. eastern time on FX 
and will broadcast nationally at that same time on radio stations affiliated 
with Motor Racing Network (MRN) and XM Satellite Radio Channel 144.
