American Standard Completes Three-for-One Stock Split Commences Trading Today with Adjusted Share Price

PISCATAWAY, N.J., May 28, 2004 -- American Standard Companies Inc. announced that its shares will begin trading today on a split-adjusted basis, as the company completes its previously announced three-for-one stock split, which was approved by shareowners at its annual meeting on May 4. The stock split entitled all shareowners of record on May 18, 2004, to receive two additional shares of American Standard common stock for each share held on that date. American Standard's stock closed at a price of $111.83 per share on May 27, which on a split-adjusted basis is $37.28.
