Mercedes-Benz Empowers Students to Drive Their Futures
New National Scholarship Program to Award $500,000 to Students Nationwide
NEW YORK, May 27 -- In conjunction with National Scholarship Month, Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) announced its new national scholarship program at a kick-off at the Young Women's Leadership School in East Harlem where philanthropist and entrepreneur Russell Simmons was on hand celebrate. The program, called DRIVE YOUR FUTURE: The Mercedes-Benz USA Scholarship Program, will make $500,000 in funding available to students who will be the first in their families to attend college.
Through the DRIVE YOUR FUTURE program, over 250 scholarships will be awarded in 2004, including at least three students in each state. In addition, scholarships will be awarded to students from various youth organizations such as Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation, founded by Russell Simmons, the Young Women's Leadership School in East Harlem, Boys & Girls Clubs, and Big Brothers Big Sisters, among others.

DRIVE YOUR FUTURE: The Mercedes-Benz USA Scholarship Program is part of MBUSA's philanthropic program which is aimed at educating and empowering future generations.
