Official Schedule for 2004 Grand Prix of Denver

Summer Concert, Street Party, Expo, Racing, Racing, Racing

DENVER, May 27 -- The CENTRIX Financial Grand Prix of Denver today announced the official race week schedule that will take place from Saturday, August 7 through Sunday, August 15. Now in its third year, the Grand Prix of Denver has added summer activities to surround the main racing events.

Grand Prix activity officially kicks off on Saturday, August 7th with the Mini Grand Prix and Celebrity Mini Grand Prix go kart races. New this year is the Bridgestone Street Party at Writer's Square on Thursday, August 12, which is free to the public, and the return of the Vintage Race, featuring top Colorado drivers and their beautifully-restored cars.

"Having the Grand Prix race running at full throttle on the streets of Denver allows us to bring an exciting, energetic feel to downtown. It will truly be three days in the fast lane," said the Grand Prix of Denver's General Manager John Frew. "From the races, to nightly activities to a great concert and the Kid Zone at the Lifestyle Expo, this urban festival will have something for everyone."

All racing activity will take place on the nine turn, 1.65 mile temporary street course located at the Pepsi Center.

During the racing activity, the Lifestyle Expo will also be held from August 13 through August 15, and will feature X-treme skateboarding, stunt bike demos, Kids Zone, exhibits, vendors and food.
