Tecstar Appoints Dave Hansen COO of GM Business

GOSHEN, Ind.--May 2, 20046, 2004--Starcraft Corporation announced today that its wholly owned subsidiary, Tecstar, appointed Dave Hansen, age 57, to the newly created position of COO of Tecstar's GM (General Motors) Business. Hansen was previously the Global Manufacturing Systems Implementation Leader for Vehicle Sales, Service, and Marketing for GM, a position he held since early 2003.

"We are delighted to have an industry veteran like Dave join our executive team," stated Jeffrey P. Beitzel, Co-CEO of Starcraft. "His extensive experience in product engineering, product planning, lean manufacturing and marketing at GM will prove a valuable addition for the company, our customers and our shareholders."

Hansen brings to Tecstar nearly 40 years experience in the automotive industry starting in product engineering and then moving through the manufacturing, quality, program management, sales and marketing disciplines. In his most recent position, Hansen launched a program geared toward reducing costs by introducing lean manufacturing concepts. His team successfully achieved substantial savings in structural cost during the first year. From 1999-2003, he was GM's General Manager of Fleet and Commercial Operations, responsible for approximately 25% of GM's overall sales in the U. S. During this time, he achieved four years of consecutive growth in market share.

"I am excited to be taking on this new role with such a well respected company," said Hansen. "Tecstar and General Motors have had a strong relationship for years. I hope that my background and experience can help forge an even greater link between these two great companies."

Hansen earned a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Oakland University and is a graduate of the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program.
