Johnson Controls Declares Cash Dividend; Elects Additional Corporate Officers
MILWAUKEE, May 26, 2004 -- The Directors of Johnson Controls, Inc. today declared a regular quarterly cash dividend of $.225 on each share of common stock. The dividend is payable on June 30, 2004 to shareholders of record June 11, 2004.

The Board of Directors also announced the election of the following executives as Corporate Officers:
- Jeffrey S. Edwards, 41, currently serves as Group Vice President and General Manager for North America/Japan for the Automotive Group's interiors business. Mr. Edwards has served Johnson Controls for 20 years in a variety of automotive sales, manufacturing and engineering positions. He has a BS in Business Administration from Clarion University.
- Alex A. Molinaroli, 44, is Vice President and General Manager for the Americas for the Controls Group. Mr. Molinaroli has worked for Johnson Controls for 21 years and has held increasing levels of responsibility for controls systems and services sales and operations. He holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of South Carolina.
- Gregg M. Sherrill, 51, is Group Vice President and General Manager for the Automotive Group's battery business. Since joining Johnson Controls five years ago, he has also served in key interiors management positions in North America and Europe. Mr. Sherrill has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M and an MBA from Indiana University.
- Michael Su, 45, is Vice President and Managing Director of the Asia Pacific region for the Controls Group. Mr. Su has been with Johnson Controls for 20 years, serving in various controls management positions in Asia and North America. He holds a BS in Electrical Engineering and a BA in Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
