Transpro Named as MAWDI, Inc. Radiator and Condenser Supplier
NEW HAVEN, Conn.--May 2, 20045, 2004--Transpro, Inc. (AMEX: TPR) announced today that it has been named as the supplier of the radiator and air conditioning condenser programs for Middle Atlantic Warehouse Distributor, Inc. (MAWDI), based in Tonawanda, NY.Under the agreement, Transpro will supply MAWDI with its Ready-Rad(R) Radiator and Ready-Aire(R) Air Conditioning Condenser product lines and will begin shipping product under the agreement immediately. The program will be rolled out to the MAWDI distribution system over the next 30 days. The Company has been their supplier of heater cores for approximately one year.
As the largest independent distributor in the country, MAWDI's growth has been based on their solid commitment to the success of the independent auto parts store (jobber). Out of their 30 warehouse distribution centers, they support over 1,500 independent jobber customers and own over 140 of their own jobber stores. Their distribution network includes three divisions: the Northeast Division (MAWDI) based in Tonawanda, NY; the Southeast Division (Warehouse Distributors Inc.) based in Atlanta, GA; and the Southwest Division (Star Automotive Warehouse) based in Dallas, TX.
