Delphi Gives American Idol Finalists New CD Audio System

Gift Is Industry's First XM Satellite Radio with CD/CDR/MP3/AM/FM Capability

HOLLYWOOD, Calif., May 24 -- Delphi Corp. announced it will provide the Delphi "all-in-one" CD audio system -- the Industry's first unit to integrate XM satellite radio with a CD/CDR/MP3 player and AM/FM tuner -- to all American Idol Season 3 Finalists, the show's Host, several Celebrity Guests and the American Idol Judges. The final two shows of the Fox network hit series will air tomorrow and Wednesday, when the next American Idol will be announced.

The gift package includes the critically acclaimed Delphi XM SKYFi satellite radio receiver, the Delphi CD audio system and one-year of complimentary XM Radio service, featuring more than 120 digital radio channels including 68 channels of commercial free music, plus news, sports, talk, comedy, and other entertainment programming from coast to coast. The recipients will receive their CD audio system in the Backstage Creations Celebrity Retreat at the prestigious Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, Calif., the site of the American Idol Finals show.

Last week, Delphi announced that in June it will reach the 1 million mark for portable satellite radio receivers sold. Delphi is already a leader in satellite radio as three out of every four satellite radio listeners are listening on Delphi hardware. Since their introduction, Delphi XM Satellite Radio products have also received several industry awards and recognitions including Business Week's Best Product, Reader's Digest Cool New Stuff and PC Magazine's Last Gadget Standing. Recently, Rolling Stone magazine reviewed the new CD audio system and wrote, "This may not be the first satellite radio boom box, but it's the first one that makes sense" (May 2004).

Delphi, a pioneer of in-vehicle entertainment and electronics, and XM, America's leading satellite radio service, teamed to offer the SKYFi radio receiver, an attractive, compact unit that provides the most advanced user features of any satellite radio on the market today. Delphi then introduced the industry's first completely portable satellite radio with the Delphi audio system -- last year's American Idol gift.

Delphi continues to expand its consumer electronics technologies, offering a broad portfolio of products to answer a wide variety of information and entertainment needs.
