Holtom puts the hammer down at Mosport!

Ottawa driver Jim Holtom puts Control Microsystems SCADAPack Corvette on AGT pole

MOSPORT ONTARIO - Ottawa racer Jim Holtom backed up his AGT field leading practice times with a dominating performance in qualifying that put his Control Microsystems SCADAPack Corvette on the pole for tomorrow's American GT Series headline event, part of the Victoria Day Weekend at Mosport International Raceway.

"The car was perfect," Holtom said after accepting the Garden Iron 'hammer down' pole award. "The Georgian Motorsports team has worked hard all weekend, but our work is not done yet. Tomorrow is another day, and we'll face some strong competition, but I think our Control Microsystems SCADAPack Corvette is up to the challenge."

Holtom has been involved in motorsports since 1972, and the Control Microsystems SCADAPack Corvette was a front runner in the now defunct Canada GT Challenge Cup. "I've spent a lot of time at this track, in this car," Holtom said. "We had done a bit of testing before this event, and we've been getting better every time the car goes on the track. Hopefully that trend will continue tomorrow."

Holtom also had high praise for his fellow AGT competitors. "I think this is a very good series. There are a wide variety of cars here, and the fans really seem to enjoy the show we're putting on. It's good to see Charlie [Webster] out here in his Corvette also. Tomorrow should be a great race."

Holtom will lead the field to green at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday for the AGT feature race.
