HOLTOM CONTINUES TO SET PACE IN PRACTICE TWO

Bowmanville, Ontario- For Jim Holtom [number 38 Scadapack Corvette] the chilly Canadian weather didn't slow his fast pace at the American GT Challenge Saturday practice session two. Holtom continued to set the pace, with a best lap of 1:21.519. Holtom now sets his sights on the qualifying session and the Garden Iron pole award.

"The car was good," said Jim. "It is a shame Cowen is going home. He really improved and was looking good. I was looking forward to a good battle upfront."

Cowen [75 Cowen Truck Lines Mustang] had set the third fastest practice speed with a lap of 1:21.869. Late in the session Cowen's right rear tire went flat causing the car to go off course in turn nine and impact the wall. The damage bent the frame and the team opted to go home and repair the car versus chancing running it.

Said Cowen, "I really like this series. We'll be back after Cleveland and run out the year with AGT."

For Charlie Webster [number 95 C.J.Webster of Canada Corvette] the final practice session went better. Webster improved his time by a complete second over his earlier times. Webster now will await the qualifying session.

"The engine had a mis-fire, it felt a little down on power," commented Webster. " I am happy with second. Now we'll go looking for the pole."

Other drivers in the field improved there times as well and look forward to Sunday's AGT event. Mike Dimand [number 71 Dimension Bond/Racer Law/Advanced Autosport Monte Carlo] was pleased with his car and the Goodyear tires. "These Goodyear tires are awesome, way better than the Hoosier tire I have run," stated Dimand.

"I am still learning the track. It didn't seem as challenging this time out," said Mike.

Dimand echoed the sentiments of all of the drivers competing at Mosport, "I think the AGT is really on to something. This is really a great group of cars, that proves with the AGT concept that anyone can run these races and be competitive."

The AGT will qualify on Saturday at 4:35PM. The AGT event at Mosport will take place on Sunday at 1:30 PM EST.

The American GT Challenge uses purpose built tube frame chassis cars, power by a V-8 & V-6 engine, with composite bodies, replicating series produced American touring or grand touring cars competing exclusively on Goodyear Racing Tires. For more information visit www.americangt.com.
