ComSense Engine Sensor Technology Wins TIIME Business Launch Competition

CLEVELAND--May 21, 2004--ComSense Technology Inc. came away with the First Place trophy and $35,000 at May 19, 2004th's annual Case Business Launch Competition award ceremony in Severance Hall. The Institute for the Integration of Management and Engineering (TIIME) at Case Western Reserve University made the award to Cleveland-based ComSense Technology in a competition of business plans from over 100 startup companies. Plans were judged by business experts from across the US based on each competing company's market size, growth rate, management team, competitive advantage, entry barriers, commercialization strategy and proof of concept.

"I'm grateful to the judges and to TIIME for this award," said Fred Lisy, President of ComSense. "We know we have a very innovative and compelling technology, and we're glad the judges recognized its commercial value. With this award money we'll be able to strengthen our management staff and further develop our business relationships." With over 15 Million new engines sold every year, ComSense expects to double in size every year through 2011.

ComSense is commercializing innovative high-temperature pressure sensors for harsh environments that enable more precise control of diesel, gasoline, and turbine engines. The sensor is part of an on-board computer system that will improve fuel economy, reduce emissions and give mechanics better diagnostic tools. ComSense Technology is a spin-off from Orbital Research Inc, a highly regarded and recognized high-technology R&D leader in northeast Ohio.
