GARDENA, Calif.--May 2, 20041, 2004--Nissan Motorsports and Art Schmitt Racing will team up once again to compete in the 2004 Championship Off Road Racing (CORR) Lucas Oil Series. Nissan Trucks will have a power for presence at all CORR events this season."The only good finish is first place. No matter how you look at it, winning is what it's all about," says Art Schmitt, the owner and veteran off-road driver. Schmitt has more than 100 career wins, nine Off-Road Championships, three Driver of the year Awards and two Hard Charger Awards in the last ten years, and will start his 12th Nissan-powered season.
Teaming with Art Schmitt in a second Pro-Lite Nissan Frontier is Mark Krueger. Krueger joined the Schmitt team in 2003, winning at Bark River, MI (Round 8).
The Art Schmitt Racing Nissan Frontier Pro-Lite truck is a tube-frame racer based on 2-wheel-drive Frontier mechanicals. The 16-valve, 4-cylinder racing engine pumps out 298 horsepower and 260 lb-ft torque.
Nissan will continue to show its power in CORR as the Official Truck of the series for the next two seasons, continuing a relationship that began in 2003. In addition to its Official sponsorship, Nissan will offer more than $30,000 in contingency for the Pro-Lite division.
