Continental Supports Chrysler Group Training, Marketing Initiatives

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., May 21, 2004 -- Continental, a leading supplier of automotive safety systems, is partnering with the Chrysler Group to provide support for its dealer training program focused on the all-new Dodge Magnum and Chrysler 300C. Continental is also providing support for the Art of Driving, Camp Jeep(R), Camp Jeep California and Jeep 101(R) consumer programs.

Continental is contributing consumer marketing materials, hands-on safety demonstrations and company spokespeople for the 25-city tour showcasing the two new vehicles to Chrysler Group dealership personnel across North America. Both vehicles are equipped with Continental's Electronic Stability Program (ESP), an electronic stability control system (ESC) that can help reduce crashes and crash-related injuries.

"We are proud to partner with Chrysler Group on this initiative," said Bill Kozyra, president and CEO of Continental Teves North America. "Safety should be paramount when consumers are selecting a vehicle, and we want to ensure dealer personnel understand the significance of ESP and can answer any questions consumers might have about the safety feature."

Other Chrysler Group vehicles equipped with Continental's ESP include the Chrysler Crossfire and 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Continental's mobile exhibit, Safely There, also will be present at some of the training events to further demonstrate how additional safety equipment works, such as anti-lock brakes, traction control systems, ESP and active rollover protection, and the benefits of these systems. The 18-wheeler is outfitted with interactive driving simulators, a 3-D movie demonstrating the effects of ESP, as well as video testimonials from highway safety leaders. The exhibit is part of Continental's national consumer awareness campaign to educate drivers on the benefits of active vehicle safety equipment.

Continental also will participate in Chrysler Group's Art of Driving program in select markets over the spring and summer months, as well as Camp Jeep, Camp Jeep California and Jeep 101. The Art of Driving tour originated in 2003 as a means to reach thousands of existing and potential Chrysler owners with a no-pressure opportunity to experience the Chrysler brand through ride and drives and other real-world experiences. Camp Jeep and Jeep 101 provide Jeep enthusiasts equal opportunity to brush up on their off-road techniques and immerse themselves in the unique Jeep lifestyle. Camp Jeep will be held July 15-18 in Charlottesville, Va. Camp Jeep California will take place in Santa Barbara, Calif. on August 19-21. Jeep 101 will make weekend visits to eight military bases and five cities from May through November.
