Jim Beam to Donate $100,000 to The Michael Andretti
Foundation
First donation of $20,000 goes to Purdue University to support
alcohol education
WHAT: Jim Beam will continue its support of The Michael Andretti
Foundation and donate another $100,000 as part of the company's
ongoing initiative to promote the importance of responsible
consumption by legal-purchase age adults. On Thursday, May 27,
Jim Beam and Andretti will be part of a formal press conference
at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway to announce the renewed
partnership.
Throughout the 2004 Indy Racing League (IRL) IndyCar(R) Series
season, Andretti will make donations from this $100,000 fund to
local universities in various race markets, including $20,000
to Purdue University in Indianapolis, to finance The Century
Council's Alcohol 101 Plus(TM) education program and to provide
colleges the opportunity to start an alcohol education program
or to augment existing efforts.

BACK-GROUND: In 2003, Jim Beam became the first major contributor to
The Michael Andretti Foundation and continues the
partnership with the donated funds now totaling $200,000
in order to communicate the importance of responsibility
when it comes to drinking alcohol.
Jim Beam is a committed advocate of responsible
consumption. Through The Century Council, Jim Beam and
other leading distillers have invested more than $130
million in social responsibility initiatives, primarily in
the areas of primarily in the areas of underage drinking
and drunk driving.
Jim Beam is building upon its current "Drink Smart(R)"
responsibility platform to increase alcohol education
opportunities and assist in the reduction of underage
drinking and drunk driving.
