Terry Borcheller - Mont-Tremblant preview

Terry Borcheller is catching an overnight flight to Québec for this week's
Rolex Sports Car Series and Grand-Am Cup races at le Circuit Mont-Tremblant.
Despite a five-week break in North American sports-car racing, the Gainesville,
Ga., driver has been flat-out, testing for two teams and participating in
promotional activities.

Borcheller will team with Forest Barber of Fort Worth, Texas, and Andy
Pilgrim of Delray Beach, Fla., for the May 23 Rolex Series race, alternating stints
in the No. 54 Bell Motorsports Pontiac-powered Doran JE-4. Last year,
Borcheller set the series race-lap record at Mont-Tremblant, lapping the 2.65-mile
road course in one minute 31.176 seconds.

"I love the track!" he enthused. "We were really fast there last year, so I'm
really excited it's on the schedule again. It's a great race track."

fast Caddy

Borcheller will arrive at Mont-Tremblant just in time for his first fast laps
in a Cadillac, during Thursday testing for the May 22 Grand-Am Cup race. He
and Craig Stanton of Long Beach, Calif., lead the series standings with three
victories together in the first three races of the season. This will be
Borcheller's first race in the No. 11 Powell Motorsports Cadillac CTS-V, co-driving
with Devon Powell of Port Perry, Ont.

"Craig and I are leading the championship, but now we're split into two
different teams and two different cars," Borcheller noted. "I believe the Cadillac
will be fast enough and I believe that Powell Motorsports will make the car
reliable."

testing ...

Borcheller participated in a track test with Bell Motorsports at Mid-Ohio
Sports Car Course on May 11. He surpassed the record qualifying time he set in
2003.

"We tried some major changes and some very positive things came out of it,"
he reported. "We ultimately ended up going quite a bit faster than what we
qualified at last year, so that was great."

He has also driven the No. 63 Saleen S7R in testing with ACEMCO Motorsports
at Mosport International Raceway in Bowmanville, Ont., and at Portland
International Raceway. Although the Corvette team presents a formidable challenge in
the American Le Mans Series, Borcheller noted ACEMCO's goal is to win the
championship for non-factory teams:

"With the lap times that we've seen from the Corvettes at Le Mans, we know
it's going to be a work in progress. But even though the Corvettes are going so
good, it's exciting for me to be involved with a team that's in contention for
the privateer championship. In the process of trying to achieve that goal, it
will be fun to see what we can do to the Corvettes."

heroes

Borcheller signed autographs for six hours on April 24 and enjoyed every
minute. He was representing his personal sponsor, K&N Performance Filters, at a
MagnaFlow Performance Exhaust promotion, seated with race legends Mario Andretti
and Ivan Stewart.

"It was a big deal for me because Mario Andretti is someone whose ability
I've respected for a long time. He has won and been fast in just about everything
he has driven, and there aren't many guys who can do that," Borcheller said.
"I also talked to Ivan Stewart quite a bit during the day and he's just a
super-nice guy."
