FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
GLOBAL MEDIA SERVICES TO PROVIDE INTERNET SERVICES TO MOTOROCK TRANS-AM
SERIES;
NEW LOOK, NEW FEATURES TO HIGHLIGHT COMPLETELY RE-DESIGNED WEB SITE
INDIANAPOLIS (May 17, 2004) ‹ Global Media Services has been selected by the
Motorock Trans-Am Series to develop its all-new home on the World Wide Web.
The web site will continue to reside at www.trans-amseries.com, and will be
re-launched on June 18, 2004, the day before the next Trans-Am race at
Portland International Raceway.
The newly re-designed site will offer many new features, including a
searchable news archive organized by date, as well as plans for live timing
and scoring and streaming video. Recent and archived results will be
re-packaged to make them easier to use. There will also be a new version of
³The Paddock,² which allows competitors to download competitor-specific
information. A media mini site, which will assist members of the media in
covering the Trans-Am Series, will also be included. Both the paddock and
media areas will be password protected.
The new site will continue to offer many features Trans-Am fans have come to
expect, including breaking news, updated session and race results, point
standings and driver biographical information.
³A new look and feel to our web site will showcase the Trans-Am Series¹
focus on the future and will better align Trans-Am with the Champ Car
organization,² said Trans-Am Series Executive Director John Clagett. ³We are
re-designing our web site with our fans, competitors and sponsors in mind,
with the hopes of continuing to offer them a positive and productive online
experience.
³I also want to thank our fans and stakeholders for their patience during
this transition period,² added Clagett. ³However, we sincerely believe that
this new site will be more than worth the wait.²
Global Media Services also coordinated and developed new web sites for the
Bridgestone Presents The Champ Car World Series Powered by Ford
(www.champcarworldseries.com) and the Toyota Atlantic Championship Presented
by Yokohama (www.toyotaatlantic.com). The Trans-Am Series site will utilize
a similar architecture and graphic look of those sites. A screen shot of the
new homepage is attached.
The Motorock Trans-Am Series features closed-fendered, production-based,
V-8-powered sports cars, competing on permanent road courses, and temporary
street and airport circuits throughout North America. The Trans-Am Series is
America¹s oldest continuously running road racing series and celebrates its
39th year of competition in 2004.
Motorock is the creation of a popular culture brand that blends the
enthusiast markets of cars, stars and guitars. It is a yearly series of
destination live events that showcases the excitement of motorsports, music
