Energy & Engine Technology Announces Scheduled Participation at the First Ever Anti Idling Conference

PLANO, Texas, May 14 -- Energy & Engine Technology Corporation (BULLETIN BOARD: EENT) (EENT) today announced that it will be attending and participating in the first National Idling Reduction Planning Conference on May 17, 2004-19, 2004, in Albany, New York. The Conference is billed as an all-inclusive event which brings together, among others, trucking and transit companies, original equipment manufacturers, local, State, and Federal government agencies, and the research sector to identify reliable and practical solutions to reduce idling in the transportation industry for the entire United States. The conference's stated goals include:

-- Save over $2 billion worth of diesel fuel annually
-- Reduce NOx and harmful particulate emissions
-- Reduce engine wear and maintenance costs
-- Protect children from harmful emissions by idling school buses
-- Provide truckers with cleaner air and quieter places to sleep
-- Reduce noise and air pollution around rail yards, truck stops, and
       depots
-- Ensure your equipment will comply with all regulations nationwide

As a Founding Charter Member of the Idle Elimination Manufacturers Association, EENT remains in the forefront of the effort to achieve as complete idle elimination for the long haul trucking industry as possible. EENT's CEO, Will McAndrew, stated: "Especially in light of recent events in Iraq and the current increase in fossil fuel prices, the need for the long haul trucking industry to embrace all viable forms of idle reduction has become emergent. EENT's AXP 1000 is an integral part of the short and long term solution to a national energy crisis."

EENT will also be an exhibitor for the second year at the Dallas Conference of the National Association of Investment Clubs, which will take place on May 21 - 22, 2004. The NAIC is a nationwide organization of investment clubs made up of individual investors (over 5,000+), which form small clubs to foster their mutual interest in learning about and investing in public companies. Last year's participation was very successful, and EENT is looking forward to another successful conference.

EENT is also anticipating much success in working with Texas Congresswoman Kay Granger, who, in late April, introduced a bill in Congress to encourage long haul trucks to reduce engine idling. The bill, titled "Idling Reduction Tax Credit Act of 2004" (H.R. 4209 at thomas.loc.gov ), if enacted, would provide for tax credits of no more than $3,500 per truck on which there is installed an "idling reduction device". Devices would be certified by the EPA and the Secretary of Energy to meet certain standards, and are anticipated to include what are commonly known in the industry as "APUs", such as EENT's AXP 1000 device. It is clear that the greatest beneficiary of this legislation would be Class 8 trucks, EENT's target market.

The enactment into law of this bill by Congress would make the compelling argument for installation of an AXP 1000 device on Class 8 vehicles even stronger. Assuming receipt of the benefit of the full $3,500 credit on a newly installed device, with a retail price of $5,495, and a monthly fuel savings of $500, an AXP 1000 would pay for itself in under four months, even with addition of standard installation cost.

As previously stated, EENT has pledged its full support to Congresswoman Granger's effort and has already commenced communication with her office to determine how it can best spearhead the effort from the industry perspective. Willard G. McAndrew, EENT's CEO, has previously stated that, "This is the most important piece of legislation introduced at the federal level to date for our industry. Not only does it address the financial pressures facing today's trucker in a major way, it provides major incentives to clean up our air and reduce fuel consumption. For these reasons, EENT is committed to helping Congresswoman Granger in her effort, and we have already started working with her office to determine the best course of action to support the effort."

About Energy & Engine Technology Corporation (EENT)

EENT (www.eent.net ), headquartered in Plano, Texas, develops and markets auxiliary power generators for the long haul trucking industry. The Company's common stock is traded on the OTC Bulletin Board under the symbol "EENT".

The Company's flagship product, the AXP 1000, is an idle-reduction technology device, designed for new and retrofit installation on semi truck tractors, that provides power generation without requiring the operation of the truck's engine. Powered by an EPA-approved and CARB-certified engine, the AXP 1000 maintains the truck's battery power while delivering electricity for air conditioning, heating, and the operation of televisions, appliances and other devices, to the sleeper cab, thereby reducing fuel consumption, air/noise pollution and long-term truck maintenance costs. (Instead of the 10-15 gallons of diesel fuel consumed through idling each day, the AXP 1000 consumes approximately 1 gallon of diesel fuel in an equivalent amount of time).

The Company is targeting a significant market opportunity created by governmental mandates that limit the aggregate amount of idling time available to long haul truckers. Management believes that Federal and State regulations, along with new and more stringent legislation that became effective in January 2004, have paved the way for a $2.5 billion industry. There are an estimated 500,000 or more Class 8 sleeper trucks currently operating in the U.S., with over 80,000 new Class 8 trucks being produced each year. Management believes that even moderate penetration of the market for anti-idling devices could result in significant sales and earnings for the Company. Anticipated metrics on unit sales suggest that for each 1,000 AXP 1000 units sold (at $5,000 each), the Company should generate gross revenue of approximately $5,000,000.
