Sherman, Sorenson Lead the March in ARCA RE/MAX Series Testing at Lowe's Motor Speedway for May 27 Quaker Steak & Lube 100

 

TOLEDO OH (5-13-04)  In preparation for the Thursday night, May 27th Quaker Steak & Lube 100, ARCA RE/MAX Series veteran driver Brent Sherman led the way in open testing Wednesday at Lowe's Motor Speedway.

 

Sherman, in his own Serta Mattress-Hickory Farms Ford Taurus, was a tick faster than Chip Ganassi developmental driver Reed Sorenson, who is scheduled to make his RE/MAX Series debut at Lowe's.

 

Kentucky winner and Rookie of the Year contender Ryan Hemphill, also on the Ganassi developmental program, was third quickest over veteran AJ Henriksen and rookie David Ragan.

 

In all, 24 teams tested for the upcoming race LIVE on SPEED Channel at 9 pm eastern. The event, the 20th appearance of the ARCA RE/MAX Series at Lowe's Motor Speedway since 1964, follows NASCAR Nextel Cup Series Bud Pole Qualifying for the Coca-Cola 600.
