Metaldyne Celebrates Record-Breaking Safety Milestone

PLYMOUTH, Mich., May 13 -- Metaldyne's Sintered Products facility in Ridgway, Penn., is being recognized for operating over one million man-hours without a lost-time accident. Several dignitaries including State Senator Joe Scarnati, State Representative Dan Surra, Ridgway Mayor James Martin and Elk County Commissioners Dan Freeburg, June Sorg and Christine Gavazzi have been invited to celebrate this milestone with Metaldyne's employees at the Ridgway plant on Friday, May 21, 2004.

Senator Scarnati will present the employees of Metaldyne Ridgway with a citation recognizing their hard work and record-breaking achievement. The Ridgway plant is the first Metaldyne location to achieve one million man-hours without a lost-time accident.

"We are very excited to reach this record-breaking goal," said Tom Houck, plant manager. "Safety is the number one priority at Metaldyne Sintered Products, and our employees are committed to maintaining a safe working environment."

Metaldyne's management team has prepared one week's worth of activities to celebrate this milestone achievement, including a steak dinner for the plant's 411 employees on Friday, May 21. The week will wrap up with an evening of family fun on Saturday, May 22 including carnival games and fireworks.

Metaldyne Sintered Products in Ridgway, Penn. manufactures connecting rods, bearing caps, sprockets, transfer-case products, and other engineered powder metal products for automakers and Tier One customers.
