GEICO Chairman to Receive Toastmasters Communications and Leadership Award

WASHINGTON, May 12 -- The spring conference of Toastmasters International, District 36 will be held on May 15, 2004 at the Hilton Hotel in Silver Spring, Md. Tony Nicely, president and chief executive officer of GEICO will receive the Communication and Leadership (C&L) award at the conference from District 36 Toastmasters.

The Communication and Leadership award will be presented during the C&L award luncheon starting at 11:30 a.m. to Mr. Nicely in recognition of his service to the Washington, DC, metropolitan area, as well as his continuous support of Toastmasters International, District 36.

Toastmasters International is a not for profit organization that helps thousands of individuals worldwide improve their communication and leadership skills. District 36 serves over 3,000 members in the nation's capital and suburban Maryland. Mr. Nicely has been chairman, president, and CEO of GEICO since 1993. He serves on the boards of directors of the Insurance Information Institute, the American Institute for Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters, The Presidential Classroom, and is a trustee of Marymount University.
