HyRadix Hydrogen Generator Operational at SunLine Transit
DES PLAINES, Ill.--May 1, 20041, 2004--HyRadix Inc. announced today that their 100 Nm3/h Adeo(TM) hydrogen fuel generator has passed acceptance testing at SunLine Transit Agency in Thousand Palms, California, exceeding the warranty in both capacity and purity. The Adeo hydrogen generator uses proprietary high pressure auto-thermal reforming technology developed by HyRadix to convert natural gas or propane into high purity, ultra-low CO hydrogen for the refueling of hydrogen vehicles. The Adeo unit forms the core of the first reformer-based hydrogen refueling station operating in the State of California.SunLine is a world leader in the demonstration of hydrogen energy production and use for transportation. The hydrogen will be blended with compressed natural gas to reduce tailpipe NOx emissions in anticipation of the coming California air quality regulations. SunLine will rely on the hydrogen from the HyRadix Adeo to economically extend the usable life of their compressed natural gas bus fleet. In addition, the hydrogen will be used for fuel cell and hydrogen internal combustion engine vehicles. This project is funded by the Department of Energy through a grant from the State of Illinois and by the South Coast Air Quality Management District.
"We are pleased with the progress Hyradix is making to move natural gas reforming technology to the next level," said William Clapper, Jr., Executive Director of SunLine Services Group. "Improving the affordability of hydrogen for public agencies like SunLine Transit is crucial to helping us fulfill our clean air mandates."
Robert Gray, President and CEO of HyRadix added, "We are very pleased to be in partnership with SunLine for this innovative project. The technology behind our Adeo unit economically produces hydrogen at 50 Nm3/h and 100 Nm3/h in a compact skid-mounted appliance. We employ the same technology in our Aptus generator to provide on-site solutions for industrial applications such as metals treating and oils hydrogenation. "
HyRadix, based in Des Plaines, Illinois, is dedicated to the development and global commercialization of hydrogen generation technology for hydrogen vehicle refueling, industrial applications and for fuel cells. Using an innovative combination of technology and equipment, HyRadix's hydrogen generating appliances produce hydrogen from the common infrastructure fuels natural gas and LPG.
