Dan Wheldon, #26 Klein Tools/Jim Beam Dallara/Honda/Firestone
"The Klein Tools/Jim Beam car feels very good. We are just working slowly through our program
and making sure along the way that the car is comfortable. The key for us is to peak at just the right time.
The speed charts don't mean much in these early days, it is Saturday that matters. As we say in England,
things are just peachy."
Dan Wheldon Facts
Wheldon is the current Indy Racing League® IndyCar® Series points leader with 123 points placing
him ahead of his Andretti Green teammate Tony Kanaan with 117.
Wheldon is the IndyCar Series' most recent winner, claiming his first IndyCar Series victory at the
Bridgestone Indy Japan 300 on April 17.
Wheldon has also claimed the last two IndyCar Series pole positions, earning the top starting spot at
Phoenix and Japan.
Wheldon started fifth and finished 19th in last year's Indianapolis 500.
Eddie Jones, Race Engineer, #26 Klein Tools/Jim Beam Dallara/Honda/Firestone
"We are just making small changes on the Klein Tools/Jim Beam car because we started with a
good and fast setup. We probably could have made a late run with a new set of tires and posted a much
faster speed but it's too early for that. We were planning on not running much in the afternoon so today's
rain really didn't affect us at all."
