DIMAND RACING ENTERPRISES TO JOIN AGT AT MOSPORT
Chicago, IL- Dimand Racing Enterprises, based in Roselle, Illinois, has announced its intention to compete in the May 21-23 Victoria Day Weekend round of the American GT Challenge Series at Mosport International Raceway, in Bowmanville, Ontario. Driver Mike Dimand will be piloting the 1999 Chevy
Monte Carlo, with support from Dimension Bond, RacerLaw, Inc., and Advanced
Autosports.
Dimand hopes to prove the merit of the equivalency formulas set
by the AGT staff to allow a variety of cars to be competitive in the series.
The Monte Carlo, riding on a Port City Chassis, is a NASCAR legal Tour car,
converted for road racing. Says Dimand, "By virtue of the weight breaks
given to cars like mine, based upon engine, body, and tire selection, I am
able to run at a weight two hundred pounds below that of the typical
purpose-built AGT/GT-1 car. With that weight break, we're hoping to be
competitive, even though we have substantially less horsepower, tire, and
brake."
Dimand also intends to demonstrate the inclusiveness and viability
of the AGT series to all potential competitors. "This series gives me the
opportunity to race against some of the best drivers on the continent, at
legendary facilities like Mosport. Although the costs are greater than
staying near home and running club races, the contingency awards and prize
money more than offset the added cost. Even a team with a relatively
inexpensive car and small budget like ours can benefit from the groundwork
already laid by AGT, and we expect nothing but better things in the future."
Dimand thanked Dimension Bond composite bearing bonding technology, the
world leader in converting and providing dimensionally accurate surfaces;
RacerLaw, Inc., High Performance Legal Solutions for the Racing Community;
Advanced Autosports, AGT/GT-1/Vintage T/A race preparation and fabrication;
and especially AGT competitor Bruce Nesbitt, for his support and guidance.

The American GT Challenge uses purpose built tube frame chassis cars, power by a V-8 & V-6 engine, with composite bodies, replicating series produced American touring or grand touring cars competing exclusively on Goodyear Racing Tires. For more information visit www.americangt.com.
The American GT Challenge’s next stop is at Mosport International Raceway May 23rd, in Bowmanville, Ontario Canada.
