BigFix Provides Enterprise Vulnerability Management Solution for TRW Automotive

BigFix Enterprise Suite Enables Leading Automotive Supplier to Deploy Configuration Changes and Patches Across its Global Network

EMERYVILLE, Calif., May 10 -- BigFix, a leading provider of vulnerability management solutions, today announced that TRW Automotive, one of the world's ten largest automotive suppliers, has selected the BigFix Enterprise Suite (BES) to help the company effectively manage vulnerabilities and security configurations across its multiplatform networks. TRW has already implemented BES to manage 23,000 desktops, laptops and servers across its global network and provide central control over the growing challenge of addressing both patch and non-patch-related vulnerabilities.

A global organization with 200 offices spanning from North and South America, to Europe and Asia, TRW Automotive relies on BES to quickly and easily manage its patch and configuration changes across heterogeneous computing environments and to focus valuable IT resources on key mission-critical initiatives. BES supports multiple platforms and non-English operating systems, features that are critical to the most diverse global enterprises. Additionally, BigFix is enabling TRW Automotive to identify vulnerabilities on intermittently connected endpoints, such as laptops, and remediate them regardless of network connectivity.

"As a truly global company, we needed a solution that could rapidly manage vulnerabilities across all of our servers, desktops and laptops regardless of physical location, operating system or native language," said Joe Drouin, vice president and CIO of TRW. "After a lengthy evaluation, we clearly recognized that BigFix offers one of the most effective and efficient solutions on the market and we expect BES to become a critical component of our overall information security strategy."

"With its global layout and dynamic network, TRW Automotive is a perfect fit for BigFix's vulnerability management solution, which is designed to remediate vulnerabilities and manage configuration changes in massive, distributed and heterogeneous environments," said Gregory Toto, BigFix's vice president of product management. "By selecting BES, TRW Automotive now benefits from the up-to-the-minute visibility and control needed to proactively identify, assess and remediate threats and vulnerabilities across its enterprise."

BigFix Enterprise Suite (BES) is a flexible, secure, agent-based platform that provides highly targeted, real-time identification, investigation and remediation of vulnerability and configuration issues on an enterprise-scale. BES enables the management of configuration changes across the largest multiplatform networks, supporting up to 75,000 individual Microsoft Windows, Linux and UNIX computers from a single BES server. BigFix technology has immense flexibility due to the use of BigFix Fixlets, small messages that contain both the intelligence to detect a particular vulnerability or configuration issue and the instructions to automatically remediate it. With BigFix's Fixlet technology, new security capabilities can be up and running on the BES platform quickly, enabling BES to immediately adapt to enterprises' needs.
