Carlisle Companies Appoints Carol Lowe Chief Financial Officer

CHARLOTTE, N.C.--May 6, 2004--Richmond D. McKinnish, President and CEO of Carlisle Companies Incorporated , announced today that Carol Lowe has been promoted to the position of Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Ms. Lowe has been serving in the role of Corporate Treasurer since joining Carlisle in January of 2002.

Prior to joining Carlisle Carol spent 8 years at National Gypsum Company in Charlotte, NC, where she last served as the Corporate Treasurer. Preceding that she spent 7 years with Ernst & Young as Audit Manager. Carol is a Certified Public Accountant; she received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of North Carolina, Charlotte, and an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
