ACG Selects Johnson Controls for Outstanding Growth Award
GLENVIEW, Ill., May 6, 2004 -- The Association of Corporate Growth (ACG) has recognized Johnson Controls, Inc. with the ACG Outstanding Growth Award in 2004. ACG presents the award annually to a company with sales of at least $500 million that has demonstrated outstanding growth during the previous five years, as well as distinctive strategic positioning and dynamic management leadership.

Johnson Controls, which has its corporate headquarters in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, was nominated for the ACG award after receiving ACG Wisconsin's Outstanding Growth Award earlier this year. Johnson Controls was chosen as the recipient from a group of 19 winners endorsed by ACG chapters throughout the world. The company achieved sales of $22.6 billion in 2003 and has 118,000 employees worldwide.

In selecting Johnson Controls, the ACG jury citied the company's 57 consecutive years of sales increases and 13 consecutive years of earnings increases. The Outstanding Growth Achievement award was presented to Johnson Controls Chairman and CEO John M. Barth at the ACG InterGrowth(R) Conference, which was attended by over 1,000 participants.
