LogicTools To Participate at DC/EXPO 2004; Learn How to Design & Run More Robust and Efficient Supply Chains
CHICAGO--May 4, 2004--LogicTools, a leading developer of supply chain planning solutions, will be participating at the Distribution/Computer EXPO 2004 on May 18-20 in Chicago. "We are issuing an invitation for companies to join us at the show to learn how LogicTools can help them design efficient supply chains. D/C Expo provides us with a number of opportunities to demonstrate the value we can bring to businesses", stated Edith Simchi-Levi, VP Operations of LogicTools.Educational opportunities include a seminar on May 18th, a product demonstration on May 19th, and product exhibition May 19-20th. Free registration and seminar discounts are available (http://www.logistar.com/Discount04.asp?id=2797).
First, a seminar will be given by Dr. Michael Watson, Vice President of Business Development. He will be presenting "How to Design & Run More Robust and Efficient Supply Chains". (Session S304: Tuesday, May 18, 2004, 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.) Participants will learn how to use supply chain planning tools to bring value to their business through improved supply chain design and decisions on where to locate facilities, where to source products, and how to best manage capacity. Through the use of industry case studies they will hear about the types of problems addressed with supply chain planning tools; how to uncover hidden savings; new ways to use existing tools and the pitfalls to avoid. In addition, Dr. Watson will describe a new approach to positioning inventory in the supply chain that increases service levels and reduces inventory liability costs.
Second, a product demonstration on "Global Supply Chain Design", (Session D706: Wednesday, May 1, 20049, 2004 from 10:00am to 11:15) will be offered. This demonstration will focus on the integrated use of network design and inventory planning from a global optimization perspective and will show how a combined use of these solutions can result in reduced costs and increased service levels.
Finally, attendees can visit LogicTools at booth 451 throughout the show, where they can discuss supply chain challenges and have a chance to win the book "Managing the Supply Chain", written by Simchi-Levi et, al.
